Learn MoreShe knows what it takes when high stakes are involved.
Dr. Carr evaluates and treats her athletes and performers from head to toe using her whole-body approach. With a keen eye, she sees and treats areas of the body that break down contributing to overuse injuries. Importantly, the source of one’s pain and injury may not be apparent until a whole body perspective is considered. She also incorporates breath work in different body positions promoting cardiopulmonary balance, body awareness and focus.
Often times, overuse injuries from hours of daily practice contribute to limited range of motion, impaired nerve mobility, and muscular imbalances hindering optimal performance. Therefore, assessments are performed in functional positions, whether static or dynamic, specific to each performer’s need. As a result, she may also attend her athlete’s games or a musician’s performances providing added insight for future treatments.
Also, musicians are asked to bring their instruments to their sessions. With her attention for detail and intuitive touch. Dr. Carr utilizes a variety of gentle hands on techniques and specific functional movement patterns with their instrument. Restoring overall body awareness allowing for efficient, effective recovery.
In conclusion, when it comes to her patients’ performance. Whether on the field, under the bright lights on a stage, or in day-to-day normal life… Dr. Carr has a unique whole-body viewpoint. She is well known for helping performers, artists, and athletes return to what they love best.
