Hi, I'm Dr. Erin Carr, PT, DPT - founder of Beyond Integrative PT and creator of Hypermobility Roadmap.
For almost 20 years, I've treated patients of all ages through acute, chronic, and complex injuries - including working specifically with hypermobility conditions and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I'm listed in the Ehlers-Danlos Society's provider directory. Authored a textbook chapter on rehabilitation after lumbar disc replacement surgery. Served as an adjunct professor for Mount St. Mary's University's Physical Therapy program. And was the founding physical therapist for The Colburn School in Downtown Los Angeles, treating rising stars in the orchestral and performing arts from 2012 to 2019.
This path started long before any of that - it came from the heart. Clinical training gave me the tools, while my own road to healing taught me what it actually takes to recover: I've worked with a wide range of healthcare providers and energy workers over the years to heal physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I know how challenging that road can be, because I've walked it myself - through the ups, downs, twists, and turns, still learning and growing while I help others do the same. It's made me who I am today.
My passion is helping you get back to your life - often going beyond the physical injury you originally sought treatment for, toward whole body health and well-being. Body, mind, and spirit. That's the heart of how I practice and treat.
The intention was and still is to provide a Sanctuary from the Hustle and Bustle that Feels more like Home.
I received my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Mount St. Mary’s University, in Los Angeles. My doctoral dissertation was on measures and balance changes in the older adult population. I also completed an Orthopedic residency program through the Institute of Physical Art focusing on Functional Manual Therapy.
Since, I have taken an extensive number of post graduate courses through various Institutes combining a variety of techniques related to the viscera (organs), nerves, arteries, fascia, nutrition, nutraceutical supplements as well as mind-body perspective.

As a Division 1 collegiate swimmer. I am a firm believer the body has the ability to heal on its own. I have had first-hand experience of what it takes using a multifaceted approach.
In my free time, I love taking my husky Keira on adventurous hikes and gopher hunting expeditions. As an avid world traveler, with a never-ending bucket list of places to explore, I am always up for an adventure!
