Dr. Erin Carr is the founder and owner of Beyond Integrative PT.
Originally established as Dr. Carr Integrative Physical Therapy. She has been offering her expert healing in downtown Santa Monica since 2012. The start of her journey came from the heart and so the path continues to meander.
Dr. Carr’s intention was and still is to provide a Sanctuary from the Hustle and Bustle that Feels more like Home.
Positively impacting each patient’s health and well-being. Often times going beyond one’s physical injury they originally sought treatment for. Going deeper than expected, while receiving a more whole experience that heals layers of injuries and pain that came before.
She has been practicing for over 15 years as a Licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy.
She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Mount St. Mary’s University, right here in Los Angeles. Where she was born and raised. She also completed an Orthopedic residency program through the Institute of Physical Art focusing on Functional Manual Therapy. Since, she has taken an extensive number of post graduate courses through various Institutes combining a variety of techniques related to the viscera (organs), nerves, arteries, fascia, nutrition, nutraceutical supplements as well as mind-body perspective.
She walks her talk. And is passionate about helping patients get back to their life. While sharing her wealth of knowledge with her patients. Making her a highly sought-after Doctor of Physical Therapy across Los Angeles.
Dr. Carr was an adjunct professor for Mount St. Mary's University Physical Therapy program.
Spending part of her time enlightening the minds of next generation physical therapists. She has authored a chapter in a Physical Therapy textbook focusing on the Rehabilitation of Patients after Lumbar Disc Replacement surgery. While her doctoral dissertation was on measures and balance changes in the older adult population.
She was the founding Physical Therapist for the The Colburn School Conservatory of Music and Performing Arts in Downtown Los Angeles. Treating rising stars in the orchestral and performing arts realm from 2012-2020.
Dr. Carr was also a Division 1 collegiate swimmer. While she believes the body has the ability to heal on its own. As the years have marched on since high intensity swimming. She has first-hand experience of what it takes to heal using a multifaceted approach staying injury free at such a competitive level.
In her free time, she enjoys taking her husky Keira on adventurous hikes and road trips. She is also an avid world traveler, and has done extensive scuba diving all around the globe. With a never-ending bucket list of places to explore, she is always up for an adventure!
