HI, I am Dr. Erin Carr PT, DPT and welcome to Beyond Integrative PT. The start of my path came from the heart. Wanting to help others heal from acute, chronic and complex injuries. I have been treating patients of all ages for over 16 years utilizing an integrative whole-person approach. Using not only my clinical experience and knowledge helping in the recovery process. Also, from my own personal road to healing as well. I understand how challenging it may be. I have worked with a variety of healthcare providers over the years. Putting in hard work physically, emotionally and spiritually in order to heal from long term Epstein-Barr, Pernicious anemia, chronic mold exposure as well as deep emotional relationship wounding. Going through the ups, downs, twists and turns this life has taken me on. Trying to embrace it all. Still learning and growing while helping others along the way. It has all made me who I am today.
My passion, to help you back to your life. Often times going beyond the physical injury one originally sought treatment for. Promoting whole body health and well-being.
The intention was and still is to provide a Sanctuary from the Hustle and Bustle that Feels more like Home.
I received my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Mount St. Mary’s University, in Los Angeles. My doctoral dissertation was on measures and balance changes in the older adult population. I also completed an Orthopedic residency program through the Institute of Physical Art focusing on Functional Manual Therapy.
Since, I have taken an extensive number of post graduate courses through various Institutes combining a variety of techniques related to the viscera (organs), nerves, arteries, fascia, nutrition, nutraceutical supplements as well as mind-body perspective.
I was an adjunct professor for Mount St. Mary's University Physical Therapy program
And founding Physical Therapist for The Colburn School in Downtown Los Angeles. Treating rising stars in the orchestral and performing arts realm from 2012-2019.
I authored a chapter in a Physical Therapy textbook focusing on the Rehabilitation of Patients after Lumbar Disc Replacement surgery.
As a Division 1 collegiate swimmer. I am a firm believer the body has the ability to heal on its own. I have had first-hand experience of what it takes using a multifaceted approach.
In my free time, I love taking my husky Keira on adventurous hikes and gopher hunting expeditions. As an avid world traveler, with a never-ending bucket list of places to explore, I am always up for an adventure!
